Halo indo

Indonesian

With more than 100 million Indonesian speakers, Bahasa Indonesia is one of the most widely spoken language in South East Asia. The language in its standard form shares a number of similarities with Bahasa Malaysia and the Brunei standards of Malay. However, there are some differences in pronunciation and vocabulary. These differences are due mainly to the Dutch and Javanese influences on Indonesian. Whether the language has its foundations in local Malay or the other way round is still debatable by linguists. Whatever the case, Bahasa Indonesia has evolved and is enriched with aspects of other Indonesian local languages such as Javanese, Sundanese, Balinese, and Chinese dialects.

International Language Academy offers 5 Modules ( levels) of Bahasa Indonesia. Module 1 caters to students with no or very little proficiency of the language. Each level is 20 hours. The proficiency level of each Module is described in the course syllabus. Even after completing Module 1, students will be able to understand and speak basic Indonesian sentences commonly used at work or leisure.
